Pan tracks using track name in REAPER

May 16, 2023

Some time ago, I wrote about a script that symmetrically pans tracks in REAPER. You can find it here: Quickest way to pan tracks.

Now, I want to introduce another super useful script! This one pans the selected tracks that have "L" and "R" at the end of their names, respectively 💪

For example, if you select two tracks called "Guitar L" and "Guitar R", running this script will automatically pan them hard left and hard right.

👉
The script is called:
Script: mpl_Pan selected tracks with LR at the end of trackname respectively.lua”

This script is perfect if you are importing a bunch of tracks and want to quickly pan them in stereo. By naming the tracks with "L" and "R" at the end of their names, you can quickly pan them hard left and hard right with this script. This saves you the time of manually panning each track individually.

Install the script

To install this script, you need Reapack installed. If you don’t have it, I made a tutorial on how to install it → How to install ReaPack.

To use the script, open the Actions menu (shortcut: ?) and search for "Script: mpl_Pan selected tracks with LR at the end of trackname respectively.lua".

That’s it!

Hope it helps! ✨
