These scripts allow you to quickly change the block size amount using a nice dropdown menu with predefined values.
This is perfect for those situations where you constantly switch from low block sizes for tracking to high block sizes for mixing.
How to get it
These scripts are available via Reapack. If you have Reapack installed, import this repository to get the script:
If you don’t have Reapack installed, I made a tutorial on how to install it here 👉 How to install Reapack.

What’s block size?
Block size is a number you can set to your audio interface via Preferences > Audio > Device > Request block size
When your buffer size is high, you give REAPER more time to process things, this however introduces latency. The key to latency-free tracking is to have the lowest buffer size.
The rule of thumb for block size is:
- Set to high buffer size if you are mixing.
- Set to low buffer size if you are tracking.
