REAPER allows you to create regions to mark different sections of your project. These regions can be named, colored, moved and duplicated around as needed, which is super useful for creating song structures!
The problem & solution
When you have multiple regions that overlap, it can be hard to see and work with them.
If you are ever in this situation, simply adjust the height of the ruler like this. All regions within regions will start stacking!
How I use regions in REAPER
Regions are an essential part of my songwriting workflow!
When I start a song, I just start writing various song ideas across the project and make regions around them. And once I have a few regions, I can start moving/duplicating to put things together and create the song structure.
Being able to quickly move different sections of a song around is essential for experimenting with different arrangements and structures.
This is a quick tip not many people know of, hope it’s useful 🙂
