How to install SWS

November 7, 2022

SWS is an extension that just make REAPER more powerful than it is. It adds tons of extra capabilities and functionalities that otherwise it wouldn’t be available to you.

What you get

Tons of new seamlessly integrated features, such as track auto-coloring, mix snapshots, loudness analyzers, tempo mapping, contextual toolbars, region playlist and more. Plus, you get hundreds of awesome actions!

How to install:

  1. Go to sws-extension.org and select a download that matches your system.
  2. In REAPER, go to Options > Show REAPER resource path.
  3. Go to UserPlugins folder and drop the .diy / .dll file you just downloaded.

Restart REAPER and you should now have an extensions menu.

Boom! you just made REAPER 10x times more powerful.

I will be sharing lots of cool things you can do with this extension soon!

What’s next?

I always recommend people get these two things when starting to use REAPER: SWS Extension and Reapack.

I use both extensively as part of many of my workflows and most tips in this page involve one or both extensions. So I highly recommend also installing the ReaPack extension. Click here for a tutorial on it.
