Here is a simple mouse modifier you can set in REAPER to give your MIDI chords a strumming feel 🎹
This is super useful if you are dealing with pianos, guitars, or any other instrument that could be strummed. Adds lots of realism and a can change a lot of the vibe.
- Open Preferences → Mouse Modifiers → context: MIDI note – left drag
- Double click the modifier you want to use (I have it set to Ctrl).
- Choose Stretch notes (arpeggiate/chordize) > Just stretch
Now every time you hold the modifier you selected, the mouse cursor will change letting you know that you are in “chordize” mode.
